When one tugs at a single thing in nature, he finds it attached to the rest of the world.

Save Money

By using a reusable grocery bag (instead of a disposable plastic grocery bag) once each week for just one year, you could save over $10.00 in recycling costs.

This recycling cost is part of your tax money at work. Give yourself a tax-break and reduce the need for recycling!

Waste Not, Want Not

We've all heard this colloquial expression which reminds us that we should be careful about how we use our resources, so that we won't run out at a critical moment. Monde Ami encourages you to do your part everyday by being mindful of the resources you are using and the choices you are making. Being mindful is the first step to making better choices.

You can show your commitment to living in better balance with the Earth by attaching a Waist Knot to your belt, beltloop, the strap of your purse or backpack, or wherever else you want to proudly display it. It's a constant and visible reminder of your commitment to doing what you can to not waste valuable resources. When others ask you what it is, you can tell them:

"Waist Knot: to remind to Not Waste"
(Try saying that backwards!)

You'll be surprised how many people you can inspire! What if everyone made this commitment?

Either start with your 3 strips already joined (as shown) or tie them together at the top. Bring Strip A over Strip B, then C over A, then B over C, etc. Repeat the pattern until you are near the end of the strips, then, to finish it off, tie the three strips in a knot at the bottom.

Make a Waist Knot out of a Ribbon

Cut a Ribbon to be between 1.5 to 3 inches wide, and 18 inches long. On both ends, cut the fabric or ribbon into a V so there is a point on each end of the Waist Knot. Seal the ends by putting one layer of clear nail polish on each end.
